“We are thrilled to have the Buettners and their team become a significant addition to the Viking family. Their knowledge of boatbuilding, customer service, cruising, fishing and the West Coast yachting culture will be a tremendous benefit to growth for both of our companies,” Viking executive vice president Patrick Healey said in a statement. “I look forward to building new Vikings for the clients of Stan Miller Yachts that will showcase the quality and reputation that my family and our 850 shipwrights dedicate to our philosophy to build a better boat every day.”
Like Viking, Stan Miller Yachts is a debt-free, family-owned-and-operated company. An avid sportfisherman, John Buettner purchased equity in the company in 1983 from founder Stan Miller after joining the organization in the 1970s and heading the sales department. Brad Buettner, John’s brother, joined the company in 1984 and serves as chief executive officer.
With locations in Long Beach, Newport Beach and San Diego, the Stan Miller Yachts organization covers a substantial amount of the waterfront and will expose Viking’s quality and tournament fishing potential to new markets from Alaska to Mexico.
“We are excited to be adding Viking Yachts to our product lineup,” CEO Brad Buettner said in a statement. “John and I, along with the entire Stan Miller Yachts team, look forward to representing Viking and serving our customer needs for decades to come.”
