Our weekly roundup of dealers and distributors includes news from Eastern Yacht Sales, Brunswick Marine Parts & Accessories, Smoker Craft, AB Inflatables and MarineMax.

Eastern Yacht Sales, new boat dealers for Catalina Yachts, Eastern Boats, Jeanneau Yachts, Mainship Power Boats, Jefferson Yachts, Island Packet Yachts and Bavaria Yachts, opened a branch at Kingman Yacht Center in Cataumet, Mass.

The Cape Cod office will be manned by Patrick Lane, a Certified Professional Yacht Broker with more than 20 years of experience selling new boats. Lane is a resident of the Cape and a lifelong sailor/boater.

Eastern will have Kingman Yacht Center commission and perform warranty work on all new boats sold from the Cape Cod office.

Eastern Yacht Sales also has offices in Hingham and Marblehead Mass. and Portsmouth, R.I.

Brunswick Marine Parts & Accessories and Furrion teamed up for 2010 to present a new line of shore power products.

Furrion products - cordsets, cables, adapters, plugs and inlets - feature the company's built-in Smart technology. This includes Loadsmart power consumption and Powersmart voltage indicators and Signalsmart anti-interference filters.

Brunswick Marine Parts & Accessories distributes more than 60,000 marine products from 13 locations across the United States and Canada and, in a cooperative effort with Mercury Marine's Latin America and Caribbean division, serves more than 60 additional countries worldwide.

"The Furrion line of power cords and accessories is a great addition to our product line. They have high-quality products, which are compatible with existing products in the marketplace, with equally high-quality packaging, all at highly competitive prices," said Mike Folkerts, vice president of product management for Brunswick Marine Parts & Accessories, in a statement.

Smoker Craft Inc. and Starcraft Marine held its 2010 dealer meeting in August in New Paris, Ind.

"Attendance has exceeded our expectations" said Phil Smoker, vice president of corporate sales, in a statement. "Several goals were set at the beginning of the meeting, and we are pleased with the results thus far. It was an exciting time for our organization and for our dealer network. In addition to showing our new product lines, we are able to provide our dealers with a productive educational experience."

Dealers met together for the first time at the boatbuilder's New Paris manufacturing facility. New product introductions included Starcraft 2018 RE runabout, a new bay boat fiberglass series, the new welded Starweld aluminum line, and the new Stardeck pontoon line.

Seminars presented by Bill Thompson from Cardinal Point Network, John Trkla of Red Oak Marketing, and Matt Gruhn of Boating Industry Magazine focused on helping dealers navigate through today's challenging business environment.

The following Dealer Awards were presented: the Harold Schrock Starcraft Cornerstone Award to Jerry and Diana Woods of Woods Surfside Marina, Cropwell, Ala.; and the Smokercraft Family of Products Byron Smoker Award of Excellence to Tom and Pat Keith of Keith's Marina, West Bend, Wis.

The boatbuilder will hold another dealer meeting Monday in Stayton, Ore.

AB Inflatables of Barranquilla, Colombia, signed three new distributors to sell its line of inflatable boats.

"Adding these three distributors is good news and confirmation that our growth plan for the company is on target, which began with the move of our company to Colombia in 2008," said Ivor Heyer, president of AB Inflatables, in a statement.

In San Juan, Puerto Rico, Evinmotors, a multi-line distributorship run by Juan Andres Castellanos will be adding the AB line. The distributor also sells Evinrude Outboards, Sea-Doo PWCs, Can-Am ATVs, motorcycles and other accessories through a series of sub-distributorships.

Pronautica S.A. in Santiago, Chile, operated by Galo Paredes, also sells Hobie, Catalina Yachts, Macgregor Sailboats, Mercury Outboards, Bayliner, Sea Ray and a full line of boating accessories.

Auto Marina, S.A, in Santo Domingo, R.D., operated by Angel González, also sells Bayliner, Cruisers, Pro-Line, Sea Pro, Intermarine, Wellcraft, Glastron, Rinker and Seaswirl brands. It also sells trailers and full line of boating accessories.

MarineMax is listing 50 boats for auction on eBay as part of its national "Clear the Decks" clearance sale. Many of the vessels - including a Sea Ray 340 Sundancer, several Cabo Yachts, a Four Winns 378 Vista, and a Carver 43 Motoryacht - will have no reserve price.

"This is the biggest blowout of boating inventory on eBay ever," said Ed Russell, vice president of operations for MarineMax, in a statement. "We are using eBay to help us make room for more trades as the 2010 model-year boats begin to come in."

Boats for auction will include sport cruisers, sportyachts, and sportfishing boats from such brands as Sea Ray, Cabo, Hatteras, Luhrs, Bertram, Riva, Carver, Contender and more. MarineMax has been offering deals on eBay for about four years and is rated a "PowerSeller" with more than 2,000 transactions showing positive feedback.

All auctions will close Sept. 24.
