Dealers and Distributors

Our weekly roundup of dealers and distributors includes news from Maverick Boat Company, Grand Banks Northwest, Kadey-Krogen Yachts, Atlantic Outboard and KVH Industries.

Maverick Boat Company, manufacturer of the Maverick, Hewes, Pathfinder and Cobia brands, added the following new dealers:

  • Boat Center of Florida in Fort Lauderdale
  • Boater's Exchange of Rockledge, Fla.
  • Indian Springs Marine of Largo, Fla.
  • Destin Sunrise Marine of Destin, Fla.
  • Ocean Marine Group of Ocean Springs, Miss.
  • Bayracer Marine of Havelock, N.C.

"We are extremely pleased to add these fine retailers to our already top notch dealer network," Maverick sales director Skip Lyshon said in a statement. "With the addition of these new dealers and the freshness of our model lineups, we are very encouraged about our future."

Grand Banks Northwest, an authorized dealer for new Grand Banks, along with Kadey-Krogen Yachts, Westport and upscale brokerage yachts, will be participating in the Salmon Bay Marine Center Open House.

The event is set for April 9-10 at the marine center in Seattle.

"Salmon Bay Marine Center is at the heart of the Seattle maritime community. Easily located off the ship canal, near the Ballard Locks, SBMC provides us the opportunity to offer buyers many advantages, such as quick access to open water sea trials," Grand Banks Northwest managing director Jerry Todd said in a statement.

During the two-day event, boaters are invited to visit the tenants' offices and tour boats at the dock. Each yacht builder/retailer participating in the SBMC Open House will have boats available to tour.

Atlantic Outboard, the largest Hydra-Sports boat dealership in New England, will continue to provide sales and service for Hydra-Sports boats, as MasterCraft Boat Company finalizes purchase of Hydra-Sports, the dealership said in a statement.

"The plan is to start delivering new models as early as May, which will allow the models to be moved, a production line to be set up and a production team trained," according to Atlantic Outboard. "A new production schedule is being developed exclusively from dealer demand, so regional managers are the best people to communicate with for initial product needs."

Atlantic Outboard in based in Westbrook, Conn. It specializes in Hydra-Sports, Eastern Boats, Southport Boatworks, Sea Fox, Maritime, Carolina Skiff and May Craft.

KVH Industries has a new distribution agreement with Japan Radio Co. Ltd. (JRC) for KVH's TracPhone V7 satellite communications system and the mini-VSAT BroadbandSM service.

Under the terms of this arrangement, JRC will begin selling the KVH-branded TracPhone V7 system on a global basis through its established distributor and dealer channels. JRC will also be authorized to sell the mini-VSAT Broadband airtime service to non-Japanese vessel owners and operators.

"It is with great pleasure that we begin this relationship with JRC, one of the world's leaders in wireless communications technology and an established presence in the maritime marketplace," said Brent C. Bruun, KVH vice president of satellite sales and business development, in a statement.

"Leisure boaters and commercial operators around the globe are turning to our TracPhone V7 and mini-VSAT Broadband solution to take advantage of its compact size, seamless global network, broadband connections and affordable airtime," he added.
