Our weekly roundup of dealers and distributors includes news from Laborde Products, Ribcraft, SeaWide Distribution, Durasafe and CWR Electronics.

Laborde Products, an engine distributor with locations in Texas and Louisiana, signed Gulf Coast Composite of Kemah, Texas, as its new Yanmar Marine dealer.

The effort was made in order to better serve customers in the Galveston Bay area. Gulf Coast Composite specializes in the repair, refurbishment and customization of sporting, performance, fishing and sailing vessels and has a 20,000-square-foot facility.

"Laborde has a range of quality products, and we hope to grow that line in this area," says Todd Overmire, business manager for Gulf Coast Composite. "We also want to better serve the boaters on the Texas coast, and being a Laborde dealer will help us accomplish that."

Ocean Marketing, based in Guilford, Conn., will now represent the Durasafe product line on the East Coast.

Durasafe, based in New Berlin, Wis., specializes in marine trailering devices and recreational locks. Ocean Marketing has been representing leading marine products since 1968.

Ribcraft, manufacturer of rigid hull inflatables, appointed Knighton Marine Group and David Megarry as the newest additions to the company's growing network of independent agents.

Knighton Marine, based in Sarasota, Fla., focuses on water-based solutions to law enforcement, government agencies and non-profit organizations. The company will represent Ribcraft to clients in Sarasota and the surrounding area.

David Megarry, a longtime boater, sailracer and Ribcraft customer, will promote the product in eastern Canada and be responsible for the Canadian regions of Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, Georgian Bay, Ottawa and Montreal.

SeaWide Distribution was chosen as the wholesale distributor for Harpoon GPS by Blackline GPS Corp., manufacturer and provider of high-end wireless location products and services based in Calgary, Alberta.

Seawide has been serving the marine industry since 1979 and has warehouses in major boating markets such as Costa Mesa, Calif., Seattle, and Sarasota, Fla.

"Blackline's Harpoon GPS product is exactly what our customers are asking for in this market," said Keith Wansley, vice president of Seawide. "In addition to competitive pricing, Blackline delivers high-quality products that offer security to boat owners as well as the potential for insurance discounts."

CWR Electronics, based in Bayville, N.J., was chosen as Ritz Interactive's 2009 Partner of the Year.

Ritz Interactive is a leading e-commerce network that includes BoatersWorld.com and presents the award annually to a service provider that has made the most significant contribution to overall revenue growth, customer satisfaction and bottom line improvements.

CWR was established in 1981 and is a wholesale distributor of marine and consumer electronics.
