EdgeWater Power Boats named five new dealers for its line of family/fishing boats.

In Connecticut, EdgeWater appointed Reynolds Garage & Marine to represent the brand, while McMichael Yacht Sales was selected for representation in Westchester County, N.Y.

Walker Bay Boats signed two partnerships for the Italian and Finnish markets. Upwind SRL and Ultimate Marine will now retain exclusive distribution rights for specific product lines in their respective territories.

"We are extremely excited and are working closely with our new partners," said Chris Carroll, vice president of sales for Walker Bay, in a statement. "Both of these dealers exemplify the high-quality support and service we look for when seeking out new distributors. Upwind SRL will be selling our full line of products throughout Italy, while Ultimate Marine will distribute our Genesis and Generation line of RIBs in Finland."

The company says the addition of these two distributors fills a gap between growing consumer demand and the need for a local supplier.

"Walker Bay is present in over 50 countries worldwide," said Carroll. "But because of the recent and substantial growth in our product lines, the need for more local suppliers in key markets exists. We will continue to pursue similar relationships, matching excellent service providers with the needs of local consumers."

Smith Boys Marine Sales, a 40-year Sea Ray dealership with locations in central and western New York, entered into an agreement to purchase a new facility in Syracuse, N.Y.

The new location will have street frontage on both Interstate 81 and Route 11 in the suburb of Cicero, with more than 7 acres of land for expanded sales and storage of both new and used product.

The dealership plans to close on the property and move into the new facility this summer. The next phase includes expanding the showroom, which is expected to be completed in the next year.

"The dealership feels that the boating market is starting to rebound and now is the time to set up long-term growth plans with improved customer service and increased CSI levels for the boating public," the company said in a statement.

Peters & May, a leader in the provision of marine logistics, appointed Consolidated Shipping Services as its agent for the Middle East.

"Due to the increased volume of business being carried out by our local Dubai office, we have found it necessary to appoint an agent with an existing network of offices in the region, which will support the growth that we are anticipating in the Middle East," said Gerald Price, managing director of Peters & May, in a statement.

"Following this appointment, we will be integrating the work of our existing local Dubai office into the operations at Consolidated Shipping Services LLC, which will enable us to further extend our reach of skills and expertise beyond Dubai and into the far reaching corners of the Middle East," Price added.
