The first Freedom Boat Club of Connecticut will be opening for the 2014 season at Brewer Yacht Haven Marina in Stamford, Conn.

“Connecticut is a wonderful boating area and Freedom Boat Club is delighted to bring our successful model to this wonderful state,” Freedom Boat Clubs of New York and Connecticut CEO Peter DeVilbiss said in a statement.

DeVilbiss said the decision to locate at Brewer was easy. “Brewer has a reputation in the marine industry for having great locations, great amenities and a real passion for providing its customers with a fantastic experience and it’s just what I want members of Freedom Boat Club to enjoy,” he said.

“We are proud to be the first Connecticut location and look forward to working with Freedom Boat Club and its members,” Brewer Yacht Haven Marina general manager Todd Breden said. “We are always looking for new ways to introduce people to boating and Freedom Boat Club is a perfect way to do just that. The Brewer's experience is second to none and we welcome the opportunity to be able to share that experience with Freedom Boat Club members.”

The club is aggressively adding sites to its 70 locations nationwide.
