Freedom Boat Club appointed Barry Slade as vice president of business development.

The company said Slade assumes responsibility for international franchise development, new marina acquisition initiatives, and both supporting and cultivating key marine industry relationships in what is a new position.

“Our significant growth over the past few years and our goal for continued expansion abroad really precipitated the need for hiring a highly qualified executive to fill this unique position,” Freedom Boat Club president and CEO John Giglio said in a statement.

“Barry brings a wealth of senior-level experience to this role, and his work in global sales and marketing, as well as in directing marina sales and acquisitions, will be put to good use at Freedom Boat Club.”

A 28-year industry veteran, Slade joins David Aldrich, the director of franchise development, who oversees U.S. franchise development initiatives.
