Gekko adds U.S. and Canadian dealers

Gekko said its new 2016 Surf Edition boats have been well received and the Minnesota-based manufacturer has added seven dealerships.

“We’ve got a solid base of great dealers that’s expanding,” Gekko CEO Mark Overbye said in a statement. “Our new 2016 collection is well positioned at key price points and we’re thrilled to add more dealers who believe there’s opportunity with Gekko in their markets."

The ski, wake and surf boat builder’s 2016 product collection has been tuned to meet evolving needs, particularly in surfing, Overbye said, adding that his company believes its new Surf Edition is the most highly contented product in the $65,000 street price range and that is motivating dealers to sign on.

The company said its new 22-foot Komodo model, which borrows styling cues from the exotic car world, will soon go into production.

The new Gekko dealerships are: Leaders RPM in Kalamazoo, Mich.; Little River Boatworld in Sorrento, British Columbia; Edmonton RV and Marine in Nisku, Alberta; Grand Prairie RV in Clairmont, Alberta; Peace River Go RV and Marine in Peace River, Alberta; Go Uncle Ben’s RV and Marine in Red Deer, Alberta; and B+M Marine in Conway, N.H.
