MarineMax Adds Nisswa Marine
MarineMax acquired Nisswa Marine, the company said in a statement. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The full-service dealership in Nisswa, Minn., was founded in the 1930s. It carries the Mastercraft, Supra, Moomba, Chris-Craft and Premier Pontoons brands, and provides storage for nearly 1,000 boats.
Led by Brent, Jeremy and Steve Wiczek, the Nisswa leadership team will stay on board.
“We have worked closely with MarineMax for many years,” said Nisswa president Brent J. Wiczek. “This combination will be beneficial for our mutual customers in Minnesota and the Nisswa team. We are excited about continuing to drive the expansion of our business with the extensive resources of MarineMax.”
In an interview with Soundings Trade Only in the July issue, MarineMax president and CEO Brett McGill hinted that the company was still considering acquisitions.
“We may look at other boat dealers that have that higher-margin storage revenue,” McGill said. “It’s still a big part of our business [and] we’ll continue and invest there.”
McGill said the Nisswa acquisition “further enhances our ability to serve the Minnesota area while expanding our margins through their expansive storage operation.”
