New Costa Rican marina open for business

Marina Papagayo, a new luxury facility on Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, is now leasing wet slips to the cruising and sportfishing communities.

The marina — managed by Sarasota, Fla.-based Brandy Marine International — opened in December with 180 wet slips for boats from 35 to 220 feet. The opening comes in time for peak marlin season, which runs from January through March.

The facility includes a state-of-the-art floating dock system; in-slip Internet service, electricity, water and pumpout; full-service fuel dock; a marina office and chandlery; customs and immigration; and a marina center that includes a market, restaurant, bar, gym, pool, business and media center, concierge and on-board catering and provisioning.

Capt. Bruce H. Blomgren, Brandy Marine president and CEO, and Diana Michel, director of marketing and sales for Marina Papagayo, will be at the Miami International Boat Show next week to answer questions about Marina Papagayo and other Brandy Marine projects.
