North Carolina marina set to add service facility

Southport Marina in North Carolina is celebrating the opening of Zimmerman Marine’s service and repair facility.

The partnership will launch with an open house at the marina from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 26.

The companies announced that they will hold two roundtable discussions.

The agenda is as follows:

3 p.m.: Boat Repair Roundtable, moderated by Steve Zimmerman. Attendees are asked to bring their toughest boat repair questions and share ideas and questions about maintenance topics.

4 p.m.: The founders of PassageMaker magazine, Bill and Laurene Parlatore, and Winston Fowler of Salty Southeast Cruisers' Net will lead a discussion on "Heading South from Southport — Follow the ICW or Go Outside.”

The open house also will include live music and refreshments.
