Refit International Exhibition & Conference opens Wednesday
The Refit International Exhibition & Conference — a marine industry trade show combining exhibits, seminars, and demonstrations for yacht and boat refit and repair professionals — opens Wednesday and runs through Thursday at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The Refit Show, owned and produced by Professional BoatBuilder Magazine, seeks to deliver a combination of education, emerging technologies, new products, service innovations, and B2B networking.
Marine Industry Association of South Florida CEO Phil Purcell will present a special session on materials and industry drivers over the decades.
One special session, called “Art on Yachts,” will be a discussion for chief stews, captains, designers and anyone who interacts with the owner’s valuable art onboard during a refit.
Another session titled “Brokers, Owners and Refits: One Unified Process” addresses the “line in the sand” between brokers and boatyards and promotes developing a united front among refit colleagues and brokers.
A Captains’ Roundtable, hosted by The Triton publisher Lucy Reed, will address refit estimates — what captains need in them, how they choose from among them, and what happens when the work comes in differently.
