Suntex Marina Investors LLC said it acquired Wolf Creek Marina on Lake Cumberland, Ky.

The purchase comes after the company recently added State Dock Marina, also on Lake Cumberland, to its portfolio. Suntex said it plans to make investments at Wolf Creek that include new dock construction and additional merchandise at the marine store.

“By investing in Wolf Creek, as well as State Dock, we are able to enhance the services offered to visitors of Lake Cumberland,” Suntex Marinas head of operations Chris Petty said in a statement. “This popular destination is a pristine location, and we are looking forward to adding to the already high-quality experience the facility provides.”

Wolf Creek has 209 slips, a marine store, restaurant, bathhouses, fuel pumps, pumpout facilities, water taxis and a boat rental operation.

Of the 383 lakes controlled or maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers, Lake Cumberland ranks fourth in the nation for the total number of visitor hours, Suntex said.

Suntex added the Wolf Creek property to its portfolio of 32 marinas in Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia, Tennessee, Oklahoma and St. Martin.
