ValvTect hands out Marina of the Year Award

Fuel additive maker ValvTect is set to give its Marina of the Year Award to the largest marina in Mobile, Ala.

Dog River Marina and owner Sonny Middleton will be honored Jan. 29-31 in Fort Lauderdale at the annual ValvTect Marina of the Year dinner during the International Marina & Boatyard Conference.

“We are pleased to announce the award of the 2013 ValvTect Marina of the Year to Dog River Marina in Mobile, Ala.,” ValvTect Petroleum Products president Jerry Nessenson said in a statement. “Dog River Marina was chosen from the 650 marinas in the U.S. and Caribbean that supply ValvTect Marine Fuels.”

Dog River Marina has provided marine service to the Gulf region for more than 50 years. A certified Clean Marina, the facility is on the Dog River, which empties into Mobile Bay. Dog River Marina is a full-service, 90-slip (including 80 covered) facility accommodating boats as large as 150 feet. It has dockside depths of 12 to 17 feet.
