Every year in January, ValvTect Petroleum Products presents its Marina of the Year Award for the previous year. Tor 2017 that honor went to Grand Isle Marina in Grand Haven, Mich. The award was handed out at the International Marina & Boatyard Conference in New Orleans to Grand Isle’s general manager Brian Kaloper.

“With an ever-increasing number of worthy contenders, deciding a winner gets more difficult every year,” said ValvTect president Marvin Griffin in a statement. “Personally, I think they are all winners, but we can only have one, and this year, that marina is Grand Isle.

Grand Isle is a full-service marina with wet slips, rack storage, engine service, a canvas and carpentry shop, electronics installations, haul-outs and more. The facility became a Safe Harbor location in 2016 and has undergone many improvements. Some enhancements include personal parking for wet slip members and an indoor pool and spa. The marina’s most recent project is remodeling the ship’s store and fuel dock that will be completed by the start of the 2018 boating season.
