The Penboscot Pursuit Regatta, presented by sponsor Front Street Shipyard, drew more than 30 boats this year.

The full-service shipyard in Castine, Maine, hosted a stopover for the fleet during the two-day event, held in mid-July and based at the Rockland Yacht Club. Front Street Shipyard provided discounted dockage, free space for a party and financial support and organization of post-race festivities in Belfast.

The regatta, formerly named the Rockland-Castine Regatta, and before that the Camden-Castine Race, was launched in 1998.

Beyond the sailing, the happening includes plenty of food, entertainment and friendly mingling — and a wicked fireworks show.

Marine photographer Billy Black was on hand and took plenty of photos, resulting in this pleasant slideshow, perfect for an easy Labor Day holiday to cap off a superb summer.
