West Marine names new CEO

West Marine Inc. said today that it named Doug Robinson, who spent 13 years at Lowe’s, as the new CEO of the retail chain.

The company said he will take the helm on Jan. 29. Robinson most recently was president of international operations and development at Lowe’s. He is a sailor and longtime West Marine customer.

Robinson also is a supporter and participant in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Leukemia Cup Regatta, an event West Marine said it has supported for 22 years.
