West Marine schedules grand opening in Connecticut

West Marine said the grand opening of its new store in Mystic, Conn., will begin at 8 a.m. on Nov. 14 and continue through Nov. 16.

In-store events will include tips from experts, electronics demos, door-buster deals, giveaways and raffles. The new Mystic store is across the street from Mystic Aquarium at 9 Maritime Drive, at the southeast corner of Coogan and Maritime.

At 13,000 square feet, the new West Marine Mystic store is more than 50 percent larger than the store at the previous location.

“I can’t wait for our customers to see our new store, and the broader selection of products we are carrying,” store manager Travis Chamberland said in a statement. “It’s a beautiful building that encompasses the nautical lifestyle of the community, with thousands of items, including boats, boat parts, apparel and waterlife accessories.”
