West Marine said it now offers the new Dacor Pacer Pro scuba gear.

The retailer said Dacor, one of the first scuba brands, is being relaunched after a nearly 10-year hiatus and introduced to a new generation of divers exclusively through West Marine and the Pacer Pro debut.

The Dacor Pacer Pro is sold online at westmarine.com and in two of the retailer’s Florida Dive Center locations: North Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. In the coming months the unit will be available at more of West Marine’s 258 U.S. retail locations.

“We’re confident that the Dacor Pacer Pro will appeal to a whole new generation of divers, as well as excite those divers that have enjoyed the sport for years and revered the brand,” West Marine category manager Cristina Kochevar said in a statement.

“The Pacer Pro is unlike any other product on the market in that it’s fully self- contained; you no longer need to purchase several different pieces of equipment from potentially several different manufacturers. Dacor neatly and conveniently packages the Pacer Pro in a one-stop-shop unit. Simply add an air tank, wet suit, mask and BCD, and you are good to go!”

“It made perfect sense to partner with West Marine on this exclusive launch of the Pacer Pro unit and reintroduction of the Dacor brand into the retail dive market,” said Jon Wilkins of Mares, the company that manufactures Dacor.

“West Marine is the world’s largest waterlife outfitter, and as such has the breadth and reach to introduce the brand and our new regulator system to both new and existing dive enthusiasts.”
