313 agencies participate in BUI crackdown

The National Association of State Boating Law Administrators reported that last weekend 313 agencies from around the country participated in Operation Dry Water, a national weekend of drunken boating education and enforcement.

As of June 29, 41 percent of the participating agencies had reported their results, which include 238 BUIs; 24,198 vessels checked; 4,007 safety warnings; 3,012 citations issued; 43,631 boaters contacted; 23,027 officer hours; and 2,251 officers participating.
