Recreational anglers and sportfishing icons gathered to raise nearly $20,000 and raise awareness for conservation during a party earlier this month.

The Anglers for Conservation’s inaugural Protect Our Waters Fundraising Party took place at Florida’s Heritage Isle Clubhouse.

At the event, the first Linda Goode Conservation Awards were presented by the Anglers for Conservation to Mike Conneen, Grant Gilmore and Jody Palmer for their efforts to promote marine conservation and support stewardship of the Indian River Lagoon.
