Active Interest Media’s new Anglers Journal received Folio’s Eddie Award for its Summer 2014 issue in the category of recreation, sports and outdoor titles.
The magazine joins publications such as O, The Oprah Magazine and National Geographic in the 2014 list of honorees.
Anglers Journal also was one of 30 magazines honored during min’s Most Intriguing People + Hottest Launches awards breakfast on Dec. 5 in New York.
Between October 2013 and the end of September 2014, there were 862 new magazine launches with 232 of them promising frequency, according to mr. magazine.
“Anglers Journal brings the fishing life to the pages of a beautiful, oversized, well-done publication,” the article read. “It combines both stories and photography to give the reader (even people who aren’t interested in fishing) a passion for the sport.”
