The Gold Coast International Marine Expo in Queensland, Australia, will feature more than just superyachts and kayaks, fishing equipment and PWC.

During this year’s show, which is set for Oct. 17-19, an “extreme high-diver”will set himself on fire and jump from a 25-meter tower into a 3-meter pool as well.

“It’s an exhibition of everything marine … and gives enthusiasts the best chance to get afloat before the summer and Christmas seasons,” event and marketing manager Emma Milne told Marine Business. “The high-diving is a part of our 3km-long display circuit at the Gold Coast Marine Precinct in Coomera, located just behind Dreamworld.”

A not-for-profit event run by the marine industry for the industry, the expo also raises much-needed funds for charities, to date providing more than $50,000 to the Rotary Club of Coomera River, Paradise Kids, Sailability Gold Coast and the Westpac Lifesaver Helicopter Rescue Service.

Last year 21,000 people attended the Gold Coast International Marine Expo.
