Striper Marina is hosting its 18th annual Striper Marina Striped Bass Tournament May 28-31 in Barrington, R.I.

This year's theme is "Catching Fish to Help Children," with all proceeds going to support the Rhode Island Kiddie Shelters for abused and abandoned children.

"The state covers the kids' basic needs and what we are able to contribute from entry fees, raffles and T-shirt sales and cash donations goes to making their lives a little nicer," said Al Elson, president of Striper marina, in a statement. "Over the years, the tournament has contributed over $62,000 to the shelters."

The deadline to enter is May 27.

For information, or to become a sponsor, contact Elson at (401) 245-6121.
