The uproar over E15 isn't just being heard from the boating community. Others, including the aviation community, also oppose the EPA's recent decision to allow sales of the higher ethanol blend.

In a blog posted recently on the General Aviation News website, the writers point out that no one is required to make E15 under the EPA's rule. Also, a significant number of states, including California, prohibit selling anything above E10 for non-flex-fuel cars.

"As it stands today, ethanol is more expensive than gasoline in most market areas, so E15 will be more expensive than E10," the blog says. "So tell me, who is going to put a fuel in their car that is more expensive than E10, results in less mileage and voids their warranty?"
