Bluewater Crew Training’s recreational boating curriculum includes two days of training aboard a 24-foot boat.

Bluewater Crew Training USA, which is best known for training programs for professional crewmembers on luxury charter vessels, is now offering a training course for recreational boaters.

The Fort Lauderdale company said the new program is called Safe Boating and is a five-day course that includes two days on board a 24-foot outboard-powered boat and practical survival training in Bluewater’s indoor training pool.

The course is approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators for anyone 13 and older. It prepares people to take the Florida Safe Boating Exam, a requirement to obtain a boating education identification card.

Bluewater said it will offer the course at its 45,000-square-foot, Coast Guard-approved training facility in Fort Lauderdale on the following dates: June 12-17; June 26-July 1; July 10-15; July 21-Aug. 5; and Aug. 7-12. The fee is $795.
