Atlantis Diving and Salvage of West Sacramento, Calif., is the newest affiliate of BoatU.S. Towing Services.

Owned by Capt.Gary Borton, the company has a service area that runs from Walnut Grove to above Knight's Landing and is the third location in the California Delta offering recreational boat-towing services that is also part of the BoatU.S. nationwide fleet.

The other two established locations are Vessel Assist Vallejo and Vessel Assist Bethel Island.

Borton's diving and salvage company, a fixture on the Sacramento River since 1981, primarily services municipal agencies and the public sector. However, Borton said he saw a need for recreational boat towing and decided to align his company with BoatU.S. Towing Services.

"The Vessel Assist/BoatU.S. fleet is the biggest on the West Coast and the Delta," Borton said in a statement. "They are known for getting boaters home quickly and safely, and our capabilities fit right in with their services."
