BoatU.S. adds towing affiliate in California

Atlantis Diving and Salvage of West Sacramento, Calif., is the newest affiliate of BoatU.S. Towing Services.

Owned by Capt.Gary Borton, the company has a service area that runs from Walnut Grove to above Knight's Landing and is the third location in the California Delta offering recreational boat-towing services that is also part of the BoatU.S. nationwide fleet.

The other two established locations are Vessel Assist Vallejo and Vessel Assist Bethel Island.

Borton's diving and salvage company, a fixture on the Sacramento River since 1981, primarily services municipal agencies and the public sector. However, Borton said he saw a need for recreational boat towing and decided to align his company with BoatU.S. Towing Services.

"The Vessel Assist/BoatU.S. fleet is the biggest on the West Coast and the Delta," Borton said in a statement. "They are known for getting boaters home quickly and safely, and our capabilities fit right in with their services."

Mike Frisch, host of Fishing the Midwest television series, announced that Suzuki would be the exclusive outboard motor of the show.

Sea Tow Foundation appoints new directors

The nonprofit Sea Tow Foundation has announced the return of Gail R. Kulp as executive director. Michael Wesolowski, the former executive director, is now the director of external affairs.
