BoatU.S. honors two towing outfits

Two BoatU.S. towing companies received special awards recently at the annual BoatU.S. Towing Conference in Destin, Fla.

TowBoatU.S. Virginia Beach was honored with a Life Saving Award by the Coast Guard for its involvement last year in the rescue of four anglers who had capsized in a storm near Cape Henry, Va.

TowBoatU.S. Manasquan received Tower of the Year for its towing dispatch operation, case management, and safety record for a high-volume towing business.

Owned and operated by Capt. Tom Hurst, the company ranks in the top 5 percent of the entire TowBoatU.S. and Vessel Assist fleet, and received high regards from customers.
