Bonnier Corp. and Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. announced today that Bonnier has acquired five magazine titles from HFM U.S.: Boating, Popular Photography, Flying, Sound & Vision and American Photo.
The five titles bring to nearly 50 Bonnier's collection of enthusiast brands, including marine publications Motor Boating and Yachting.
"We have always been committed to growing our portfolio of brands to include other passionate special-interest audiences," said Terry Snow, CEO of Bonnier Corp., in a statement. "These five titles from Hachette fit very well within our growth strategy of adding brands that serve markets with multimedia opportunities."
"Boating is the world's largest powerboat magazine and for more than 50 years has done an outstanding job in delivering the most boat tests and solid editorial content on how to maintain and understand your boat," said Glenn Hughes, group publisher of Bonnier's Marine Group, in a statement.
"This acquisition, combined with our other print and digital brands, allows Bonnier to cultivate a deep relationship with boaters of all types, providing them with relevant information no matter where they are in their boating experience, whether they are shopping, purchasing, enjoying, repairing or maintaining a boat," Hughes added.
