Bristol Marine acquires Massachusetts marina

Bristol Marine in Bristol, R.I., recently bought the former J&J Marine, a full-service marina and boatyard in nearby Somerset, Mass.

“This expansion allows us to better serve our existing customers, as well as new customers, through the diverse facilities we now have at our disposal in Bristol and Somerset,” Bristol Marine founder and president Andrew Tyska told EastBayRI.com.

Before the Somerset facility recently fell into receivership, its focus was on larger vessels, a market segment Bristol Marine could not serve at its location in Bristol Harbor. Tyska said he bought the Somerset facility at auction.
