British group launches online marine classifieds site in U.S.

Publish date:

The U.K.-based Friday Media Group is launching BoatsandOutboards.com in the United States in light of success with BoatShop24.com in the United Kingdom.

With more than 10 million visits in 2012 and more than 400,000 monthly unique visitors, Boatshop24.com serves a global boating marketplace that includes U.S.-based users, the company said.

Demand from U.S. boat brokerages has led the company to launch a dedicated boat classified site in the United States that will offer localized search options and tools.

BoatsandOutboards.com will function as a digital marketplace for users to buy and sell new or used boats, including yachts, motorboats and sailboats. Users have the option to list individual boats free. Additional advertising options, including premium subscriptions and business accounts, offer increased exposure. BoatsandOutboards also boasts a mobile-optimized website, allowing users to filter search results by boat type, state, price, length and manufacturer.

The Friday Media Group is one of the largest independent media companies in the United Kingdom. It owns and operates more than 75 niche classified-listing websites in industries that include marine (Boatsandoutboards.co.uk and Boatshop24.com), equestrian (Horseclicks.com & Horsemart.co.uk) and recruitment (Aviationjobsearch.com).

BoatsandOutboards.com will be the company’s eighth U.S.-based website.
