Broker hires former PassageMaker publisher

Yacht brokerage firm Curtis Stokes & Associates said it hired former PassageMaker magazine publisher Rob Dorfmeyer to open and run the company’s new Mid-Atlantic sales office.

The company said Dorfmeyer will use his experience leading PassageMaker and Trawler Fest events and his extensive understanding of the trawler and luxury yacht markets to serve Chesapeake Bay area boaters.

“We are very pleased to have Rob join our growing team,” company president Curtis Stokes said in a statement. “Rob certainly knows the product we sell, as well as the people we assist in buying and selling yachts. He will be a great addition to our existing professional sales team.”

During the last six years, Dorfmeyer made a name for himself as general manager and publisher of PassageMaker. He also presided over the publication’s educational boat show series, Trawler Fest, which has become the primary source of information and education about cruising under power.

Curtis Stokes & Associates is a licensed and bonded yacht brokerage based in Fort Lauderdale with clients around the globe. The company provides assistance in buying, selling, building and chartering yachts.
