BWI to hold media seminar in Fort Lauderdale

Boating Writers International will hold a "Newsmaker" session at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show after a brief general meeting to be held at 8 a.m. Oct. 30 at the Bahia Mar Hotel.

The session will feature two BWI members discussing how their Web sites and blogs have successfully generated revenue even within a struggling economy.

Rich Lazzara, vice president of Lazzara International Yachts; Kim Kavin, whose personal blog keeps editors aware of her travel, interests and other information leading to writing assignments; and Glenn Justice, who left The New York Times in 2006 to start MadMariner.com, the daily online boating magazine where he currently serves as editor, will speak.
