'Casting Call' will honor RBFF founder

The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation will participate in the Jim Range National Casting Call Monday in Washington at Fletchers' Cove in C&O Canal National Historical Park.

The Jim Range National Casting Call provides an opportunity for the public to fish the canal with instruction by industry experts.

RBFF president and CEO Frank Peterson and staff will be on site to discuss the importance of increasing participation in boating and fishing and help honor the legacy of former RBFF board member Jim Range.

The event also offers the nation's top decision makers the opportunity to learn firsthand about the value of fisheries management and the importance of public, private and educational entities working together to improve the health of our watersheds and fisheries.

"We look forward to joining our partners for this important event and celebrating the life of Jim Range, who was one of RBFF's original founders and biggest champions," Peterson said in a statement. "I hope that visitors walk away with a sense of urgency to protect our nation's waterways and understand the significance of getting kids outside to connect with nature. This will help us build the next generation of conservationists."
