Centek Industries, of Thomasville, Ga., recently celebrated the sale of its 250,000th water lift muffler since the company’s founding in 1962.

The Centek Vernalift muffler was originally manufactured for small auxiliary engines on sailboats. In the early 1970s, the Vernalift product line was expanded to include larger engines, and today Vernalift mufflers are used by leading boatbuilders for engines from 5 hp to 2,500 hp.

“While these are challenging times for our industry, Centek will continue its long-standing tradition of innovation and outstanding customer service,” said Bill Arwood, Centek vice president of sales and marketing, in a statement. “We will also continue to work with marine associations, boatbuilders and boat owners around the world to reduce exhaust noise and pollutants.”
