Bill Springer was named senior editor of Cruising World magazine.

A four-time award-winning marine writer, Springer comes to Cruising World after 14 years with Sail magazine, most recently as senior editor.

Springer's new role at Cruising World will include creating and editing content for print and the Web, representing the magazine at boat shows and industry events, writing boat tests, and managing the magazine's Boat of the Year program.

"I couldn't be more thrilled to be joining the Cruising World team," Springer said in a statement. "As a lifelong cruiser with thousands of offshore miles and hundreds of boat tests under my belt, it's a perfect fit. I'm looking forward to heading up our Boat of the Year program, and I'm excited to be part of a magazine that captures the humanity, technology and wonder of cruising so well. "

Cruising World is published monthly by Bonnier Corp.
