Elio Betty, former national sales manager for Soundings Publications, joined Boat Owners Association of The United States as director of advertising for BoatU.S. media.


Betty was formerly responsible for advertising sales of Soundings magazine's national section and waterfront real estate sections, as well as the company's custom publishing operation. Previously, he has held positions as a yacht rigger, harbormaster and owned a small business.

Betty will oversee sales efforts of the recently relaunched BoatU.S. magazine.

In addition, Betty will be responsible for advertising sales for the organization's BoatU.S. Trailering magazine, BoatU.S. Angler magazine, and many electronic media properties including

Herve Bonnet was appointed global director of the boat financing activity of CGI, a European financial company. Bonnet will also remain CGI North America's president and CEO.

"This new role offers me the opportunity to expand my core mission of taking business practices further by developing our presence in new markets with strong potential, while at the same time promoting synergies for our current markets to create further added value for our existing clients," Bonnet said in a statement.
