Changing Places

Kenway Corp. announced that JB Turner joined the company this week as director of advanced technology.

Formerly president of Lyman Morse Boatbuilding, Turner will manage the company's TCM Composites division, where Kenway is developing temperature-controlled molding manufacturing technology for applications as diverse as wind energy, heavy industry and infrastructure.

He will also be involved in the company's growth into the composite transportation and military markets.

"We are thrilled to have JB joining the Kenway team," company president Kenneth Priest II said in a statement. "It is not every day that you have the opportunity to work with someone of JB's caliber and experience. He will contribute exponentially to the company's ongoing effort to distinguish itself as an advanced composites manufacturing leader. We feel very fortunate."

Springfield Marine Co. appointed Danny Sweeney director of sales and marketing.

With more than 10 years of experience in the marine industry, Sweeney joins the company from Unified Marine, where he served as director of sales.

Sweeney will be responsible for the sales and marketing programs for the full line of Springfield products and developing new strategies for the growth in all sectors of the industry.

Marine Travelift promoted Erich Pfeifer to vice president of business development and marketing.

Pfeifer will be responsible for all industrial and government sales, as well as marine sales in the Americas. He will also oversee all marketing efforts and activities for the company.

Pfeifer was hired by Marine Travelift in 2004 as a sales engineer. He was appointed manager of the Americas in 2006, and promoted to director of the Americas and marketing in 2009.

Pfeifer was the 2008 recipient of the Marine Travelift President's Award of Excellence, an award recognizing extraordinary achievement on behalf of the company.

He is currently enrolled in graduate business studies at the University of Wisconsin's School of Business.
