Marquis Yachts promoted Erik Nelson to vice president of sales and marketing.

Nelson started with Marquis in 2006 as regional business manager. Since joining the company, he has been national sales manager and, most recently, director of sales and service.

Prior to his tenure at Marquis and Carver, Nelson held senior level management, sales management and account management positions in companies that manufacture products for the home construction and home furnishing industries.

"Erik's knowledge of the marine industry and his continued commitment to our worldwide dealers made his promotion a logical choice," president Robert VanGrunsven said in a statement. "You cannot have a premium brand without premium people managing it. Erik has keen business skills, passion for the marine industry and a sincere concern for the partnerships we have with our dealers."
