Legendary Marine named John Lane to the newly created position of sales trainer with responsibility for ongoing professional development for all four of its dealership sales and customer service staffs.

Lane joins Legendary Marine from JL Solutions, a corporate training and teaching firm he owned and operated for six years. He is also the previous sales and leadership trainer for Paul Cummins World Wide Enterprises; director of education for the Napleton Automotive Group, which has dealerships throughout the country; and general manager of Mike Schmitz Automotive Group.

He is a certified training specialist, with expertise in keynote presentations, public and private training programs and the development and execution of Internet and video training modules.

A water sports enthusiast, he has won many national kneeboard championship titles and is a three-time captain of the USA Water Ski Kneeboard Rider Cup Team. He is on the board of USA Water Ski.

"We are thrilled to have John join Legendary Marine on a full-time basis and look forward to what he will bring to our organization in terms of higher-level sales training and professional development initiatives," managing partner Fred Pace said in a statement. "His hands-on working knowledge of marine and his personal passion for boating, coupled with his experience in RV and automotive sales and training, will be advantageous as we continually focus on enhancing our level of performance."

In addition to conducting ongoing sales training, Lane will function in a sales management capacity at the Destin, Fla. location and be involved in the production of internal video and Internet-based training modules.

Legendary Marine has dealerships in Destin, Panama City and Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Gulf Shores, Ala.
