Hewitt has extensive experience in marine industry electronics, having worked with a leading U.K. electronics manufacturer as export sales manager. His marine experience also includes competing in national, European and world championships in dinghies and keelboats, and he currently helms a J-109.

"It's great to have James Hewitt on board at this exciting time for Ocean Signal. Having launched our SafeSea range throughout Europe and USA, we are now delivering extensive product orders to our new distribution chain," managing director Alan Wrigley said in a statement.

"It will be James' task to continue that momentum and assist in expanding our distribution internationally in both the leisure and commercial markets," he added. "His experience and enthusiasm will help Ocean Signal to develop global brand recognition."
