The PowerCat Group named Jim Irving regional sales manager for the Northeast.

Based at the home office in Tarboro, N.C., Irving is responsible for the region, including New England, New York, New Jersey and Maryland. Irving will represent all four PowerCat Group catamaran lines: World Cat, Glacier Bay, Livingston and Carolina Cat.

Prior to joining the PowerCat Group, Irving was president of James Irving and Associates. He was also regional sales manager for Tiara Yachts and regional sales manager for Pursuit Boats for more than 16 years.

“Jim’s experience and professionalism will be an immense help as we consolidate our four catamaran brands’ distribution in his important territory,” PowerCat Group vice president of sales and marketing Frank Longino said in a statement

“Jim is an institution in the Northeast and will be fundamental to our marketing strategy of dominating our catamaran sector of the market,” he added.

The PowerCat Group builds four brands of catamaran products in Tarboro. The company acquired World Cat Catamarans in 2002 and added Glacier Bay and Livingston catamarans in 2008. The company founded the Carolina Cat brand of 18- to 24-foot catamarans in 2010.
