Newport Exhibition Group, producers and managers of the Newport International Boat Show and the Providence Boat Show, named Thomas Delotto as its division director.

He will be in charge of strategic planning and development for the group, as well as Yacht Rendezvous at the Newport Yachting Center Marina.

Delotto has more than 30 years of experience in the boating business, especially in property management, including marinas, hotels, resorts and private clubs. He has been a director of domestic and international marina operating companies.

“I will focus on developing new strategies and programs that our customers want, and I am committed to working with our clients to ensure we continue to support their efforts,” Delotto said in a statement.

Lifestyle Integrated added two industry veterans to its roster.

Jeff Scherer was named director of client strategy, responsible for building and expanding Lifestyle’s partnerships with U.S. manufacturers in marine and related businesses.

He has managed the Internet and lead management business for companies such as MarineMax and Tracker Marine Group. Scherer also handled lead management for dozens of the top marine dealers in the United States and led the way for the use of telemarketing lead tracking for boat dealers and builders.

He has worked with Lifestyle for more than a year as a supplier.

Alan Adelkind was named sail client consultant, responsible for creating content and marketing opportunities geared to sailboat builders and their dealers throughout North America.

He has 30 years of experience in boat sales as a dealer and broker.


Connecticut spring show adds charity benefit

The Connecticut Spring Boat Show will be held Friday May 4 through Sunday, May 6, at Brewer Essex Island Marina in Essex, Conn., and this year will be the first time that admission fees will benefit the charity SailsUP4Cancer

AIM announces new hires

Catapult Creative Labs, the internal marketing communications agency of Active Interest Media, has hired Andrea Kupfer as vice president, account executive and Christina Erb LoVullo as creative services director. Kupfer will lead Catapult’s long-term sales growth and profitability and Erb LoVullo will oversee marketing and creative services.
