Western Marine Insurance Services appointed Scott Olmstead vice president of programs underwriting of the Aquapac Plus recreational marine package programs.

Olmstead will be responsible for managing the underwriting department, taking the lead on program enhancements, and assisting with insurance underwriting to ensure the profitability and longevity of the programs.

“Scott has a great track record of delivering superior customer service and underwriting to his clients,” said Joe Cecchini, chairman of Western Marine Insurance Services. “We are delighted to have him join our team as we continue to reach our expansion goals and commitment of delivering the highest level of insurance service to our customers.”

Olmstead has more than 13 years of experience in the insurance industry and most recently worked as a director for program management at Berkley Underwriting Partners in Naperville, Ill.

Olmstead holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from Illinois Wesleyan University, as well as his ARe designation.

Minneapolis-based Sea-Legs, manufacturer of “The Pontoon Lift That Goes Where You Go,” has named Bil Payne account manager for the South and Southeast.

Prior to joining Sea-Legs, Payne was a sales rep for Xpress Boats, held several positions with Yamaha Marine Group, and worked in management at The Boatman Inc.

“We’ve had such tremendous growth in the Midwest that, with Bil’s experience, we anticipate similar success in the Southern markets,” said John Holb, president of Sea-Legs. “Bil’s overall marine industry experience will be a great asset to Sea-Legs and his dealers.”

Russo Marine has appointed Ryan Glad sales manager for its new, pre-owned and brokerage boat sales operations.

Glad served as a sales representative with Guidant Corp. from 2003 to 2005, and most recently was a regional sales manager with Sea Ray Boats of Knoxville, Tenn.

“We are very fortunate to add a person with Ryan’s knowledge, experience and expertise to our team to assist us in executing our marketing and sales strategies,” said Larry Russo Jr., general manager of Russo Marine.

Russo Marine is headquartered in Medford, Mass., with additional sales and service locations in Boston and Wakefield, R.I.
