St. Petersburg, Fla.-based marine insurance agency Wallace Welch & Willingham announced the promotion of Mike Carrigan Jr., of Sarasota, to assistant vice president of marine and outdoor recreation.

Carrigan will oversee the sales and marketing efforts of the department, which includes marine dealers and marinas, marine manufacturers, marine contractors and recreational marine insurance clients.

Growth plans for the department include outdoor sports and recreation encompassing RV parks and campgrounds, hunting plantations and preserves, hunting and fishing outfitters and lodges.

A third-generation marine industry veteran, Carrigan has more than 20 years of ownership and management experience. He was sales and marketing director at Scout Boats and national sales manager at Stamas Yacht, Century Boat Co. and ProLine Boats.
