Changing Places

The Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County (Fla.) named Mike Antheil its new executive director.

Antheil will continue part time as executive director of the Florida Alliance for Renewable Energy, Florida's largest renewable energy advocacy group, which he founded in 2008, until March 1.

Since 2008, he also has been working as a contract lobbyist, a partner at Green Asset Finance and as a public speaker on renewable energy at engagements around the state, including in front of Florida's legislature. Prior to 2008, Antheil worked for Merrill Lynch as a business consultant and commercial lender and as a financial adviser for Capital Growth Financial and SW Bach & Co.

Antheil has dual bachelor’s degrees in sociology and geography from Jacksonville University. He is past president and a current board member at AMI Kids Palm Beach, a charter school with a mission to rehabilitate at-risk youth.

Long Island, N.Y.-based Si-Tex Marine Electronics announced the addition of industry veteran Rich Galasso to its sales team.

The addition of Galasso “will ensure strong representation for the rapidly growing company in the all-important southern Florida market,” the company said. Galasso will be responsible for both of Si-Tex’s product lines serving recreational and commercial markets.

“I have known Rich for a long time, both personally and professionally, and I can say without hesitation he is one of the most dynamic sales reps I have ever worked with,” vice president of sales Allen Schneider said in a statement. “Rich’s addition to the team will allow Jon Smith of Pilot Marine — who had been singlehandedly covering the entire Southeast U.S. territory for Si-Tex — to focus his efforts on the Gulf of Mexico. As a result of this partnership, Si-Tex will be able to provide a much higher level of sales and dealer support across the entire Southeast region.”

Galasso has 18 years of experience in the marine industry, including a retail background with E&B and West Marine as store manager. He also has marine electronics sales experience as a regional manager for Standard Horizon and Charles Industries, as well as serving as national sales manager for Uniden Marine.

Most recently, Galasso was regional distribution manager for Globalstar/Spot.
