Moore Stephens Brokers Ltd., a source of general insurance products tailored for superyachts, appointed Kathy Kennedy as its new U.S.-based executive vice president.

Kennedy most recently worked with the Ferretti Group on North American market development and with Derecktor Shipyards as director of marketing during the M/Y Cakewalk build.

“We’re really pleased to welcome Kathy to the Moore Stephens team,” managing director Clive Dixon said in a statement. “Kathy is really well-known in the industry and brings a wealth of experience with the meticulous requirements of superyacht owners. We all look forward to working with her.”

Nautic Global Group recently announced changes in its sales operation.

All of Nautic’s Canadian dealers will now be serviced by industry veterans Wayne Blackburn and David Dusome. Blackburn and Dusome are newcomers to the Nautic team.

“We are thrilled to have Dave and Wayne on the Nautic Global Group team,” senior vice president of sales and marketing Doug Sexton said in a statement. “Their experience and professionalism are a perfect fit for our organization.”

Blackburn and Dusome have represented marine industry products for nearly 60 years collectively for such companies as OMC, Evinrude & Johnson, Bombardier, Lowe, Sun Cruiser, Seaswirl, Mercury Marine and Chris-Craft. Most recently, they were sales representatives for the Tracker Marine Group in Canada.

Brandy Marine International announced that Ken Stead joined Brandy as a regional vice president and as manager of Cape Haze Marina in Englewood, Fla.

The former executive director of the Southwest Florida Marine Industries Association brings more than 30 years of experience in the marine industry and marina management to Cape Haze, a full-service marina with more than 100 wet slips and 150 dry slips.

“It is the perfect confluence of experience and facility,” Brandy Marine president Capt. Bruce Blomgren said in a statement. “Having moved to Southwest Florida in the ’80s and managed a nearby marina, Ken has been part of the on-the-water changes to this area and knows what customers are looking for.”

Brandy is a marina management, development and consulting firm based in Sarasota, Fla.

The Gowrie Group’s board of directors announced that Ed Gumbrecht was named president of the company. The Gowrie Group is an independent insurance agency, advising and providing insurance solutions to clients throughout the United States.

"Ed has done so much to help shape who we are today as an organization. I look forward to our continued growth in years to come with Ed as our president,” Gowrie Group chairman and CEO Carter Gowrie said in a statement.

Through a 25-year career in the insurance business, Gumbrecht has managed insurance carrier operations and consulted for many of the world's largest insurance carriers. He is a former vice president of the Chubb Group of insurance companies and former president of Mountain View Indemnity.

Gowrie Group provides insurance, benefits and financial services to individuals and businesses throughout the country and specializes in customized business, home, auto and marine insurance products and services.
