Fineline Industries, the producer of Centurion Boats, announced that industry veteran Jim Emmons, through his marketing consulting firm, will handle Centurion’s marketing efforts.

Emmons will oversee and direct the brand’s marketing, which includes advertising, communications and public relations for both the trade and consumer markets. Emmons will remain president of the WaterSports Industry Association and will continue to manage the Water Sports Foundation’s Coast Guard federal grant.

Most recently, Emmons was the publisher of WaterSki and WakeBoarding magazines at Bonnier Corp., where he spent 21 years. In 1996, he was appointed to the WSIA’s board and he became the association’s president in 2003. He is serving his third term.

“We are thrilled to have an industry ‘big gun’ like Jim working with Centurion. His talents and skills complement our team very nicely, and with an improving market we are anticipating continued production growth,” Centurion Boats president Rick Lee said in a statement.

Intellian appointed Carl Novello vice president of product management and he also will lead Intellian’s Inmarsat GX Terminal program.

He has more than 12 years of experience in VSAT and satellite communications. In his previous roles, Novello has worked in the maritime VSAT markets as a director of sales engineering and product management and has a wealth of product and systems knowledge.

“We are delighted to welcome Carl to the company; he has a wealth of experience within the marine satellite communications field, and as part of his role heading the product management team he will be responsible for bringing the latest Intellian products to our growing portfolio,” Intellian president and CEO Eric Sung said in a statement.

Wireless kill-switch manufacturer Autotether appointed Prakaithip Dollar Chanthavone marketing communications specialist at the company’s headquarters in Connecticut.

Chanthavone, who has more than 10 years of marketing communications, sales and customer relations experience, will be responsible for Autotether’s trade and consumer communications programs, market research and strategy.

Previously a business account manager at AT&T, she is a graduate of Bentley University.
