Morris Yachts hired Bob Marston as a brokerage sales professional for its sales office in Newport, R.I.

He will be responsible for overseeing brokerage sales operations in the Newport area and beyond, with a focus on offshore cruising yachts.

The company said Marston has been in the marine industry for more than 21 years, working in sales for boatbuilders such as Oyster Marine and Gunboat International, and serving as a professional yacht captain for many years.

"Bob's impressive career and his commitment to his customers make him an excellent cultural fit for our organization," Morris Yachts CEO Doug Metchick said in a statement. "We look forward to having his expertise onboard and know he will be a valuable asset in the continued growth of not only our brokerage department, but our company as a whole."
