Marine air conditioning and sanitation equipment supplier Dometic Marine said it is signaling its intention to focus on the commercial market with the appointment of 25-year company employee Ben Haynes to the commercial and military marine portion of Dometic Americas.

Haynes, international technical sales manager, who has worked with the Asia Pacific group for five years, will have key responsibility for generating sales in the Pacific Northwest, along with northwest and northeast Canada.

The appointment is part of the Dometic Group’s recent global reorganization, led by CEO Roger Johansson, which consolidated the company’s global market focus to three large geographical regions.

Brewer Yacht Sales announced the transfer of veteran broker John Uljens to the Brewer Deep River office.

With more than 35 years in the marine industry, Uljens brings his perspective to the Connecticut River area. Uljens is also a member the Yacht Brokers Association of America, along with receiving several sales achievement and customer satisfaction awards from Boston Whaler, Donzi Marine and Mercury Marine.

Brewer also announced the addition of Fred Brown to its brokerage team. Brown brings more than 31 years of experience in the yacht sales industry, most recently at Petzold’s Marine Center in Portland, Conn.

As a yacht broker, Brown has received industry honors that include No. 1 Silverton Salesman nationwide and YBAA certification. He will join Brewer’s Westbrook, Conn., location.

The board of the Alexandria Seaport Foundation hired Mari Lou Livingood as the foundation’s new executive director.

Prior to joining the foundation, Livingood served as director of development at Living Classrooms of the National Capital Region, assistant director of development at the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and director of program development for the Association of Marina Industries.
